This species forms a dense bunch of thick roots, of which an upright growing stem of about 10 to 30 cm length appears.

It has several, about 5 cm long, egg-shaped leaves, which bear an about 1 cm long petiole.

The flowers appear on the upper part of the stem and are ca. 6 cm long.
