| syn. Ceropegia galpinii (Schltr.) |
| distribution:
South Africa: Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North-West Province Swaziland Zimbabwe |
| This is a
wonderful climbing species with greyish green stems and greyish green
leaflets. The flowers are only about 2 to 2,5 cm long, but very nice formed and coloured. The lower part is whitish green, turning into brownish pink on the flower-tube. The upper part of the tube is widened bag-like and white, sometimes the tube has five brownish pink stripes, which run directly into the petals. These are dark- to chocolate-brown and formed like some kind of cap. From the Gauteng Province in South Africa, or rather from the area between Johannesburg and Pretoria, comes a very dwarf clone which creeps among the ground and which also builds small tubers at its internodes. |
