| distribution:
Benin Equatorial Guinea Ghana Nigeria |
| This species is
very similar to Ceropegia campanulata, to which it once was regarded
as a variety. It is one of those species that grow in grassland and which, owing to their appearance, are perfectly camouflaged in their habitat, and which may be discovered only during the flowering season. The stem appears from a large subterranean tuber, it grows erect and reaches a length of only about 30 cm. The leaves are narrow lancet-shaped and grasslike (One pair of leaves per plant is supposed to be much larger than all other leaves.). The narrow flowers are quite large, 7,5 to 10 cm, and appear singly at the upper part of the stem. They are green and dark purple in colour. |
