| In the wild
this species can be found in rocky area in about 1000 m above sea level,
where it grows as a climber between lower branches of various trees. It is a tuber-forming species with striking flowers. The stem can grow up to 2 m long, the leaves are usually heart-shaped, often recessed at the edges and resemble the leaves of cucurbit species that grow in the same areas, they are about 4 cm long and 3 cm broad The flowers appear usually in smaller groups. |
