| This species
forms tubers and forms dark purple coloured, glabrous stems. The leaves are about 5 to 15 long and 1 to 5 cm wide, hirsute on the upper side and appear on an about 1,5 to 2 cm long petiole. The flowers of this species stand together in smaller groups, they are about 1 to 2 cm long and show a nice pink colouration. The subterranean tubers of this species are edible and are used as vegetable by the people of the region. |
