hofstaetteri is one of those dimorphic secies which can only be found in
Madagascar. The stems are olive-brown to grey and covered with darker 'warts'. The leaves arise from thickened leaf-bases, they are olive-green to olive-brown, short petioled and egg-shaped. The flowers appear on thinned, climbing stems with smaller and more slender leaflets. They show a swollen, beige coloured base and a short light yellow flower-tube. The united petals are light yellow in their lower part and darker yellow to maize-yellow in the upper part. |
