| In the wild
this species can be found growing freely on rocks or between low
vegetation in 1000 to 1500 m above sea level. Usually only one stem rises from the tuber. This grows upright, reaches about 30 cm length and dies seasonally. The leaves are lightgreen coloured and not succulent, they reach a length of up to 20 cm, but are only resp. 0.5 cm broad. The flower is usually under 0,5 cm broad, but acn reach 3 - 8 cm in length. The flower-tube is very bright and spotted dark brown in the upper range, the petals are as long as the flower-tube. They are dark braun and haired in the lower range and lightgreen in the upper range. They are not close-knit but leaned together in about half of their length. |
