China: Guizhou, Yunnan

 
In the wild this species can be found in mountain forests.

Its twining stems reach a length of up to about 1,5 m. The leaves are ovate in shape, have a rounded base and an acute tip. They are 4 to 5 cm in length, about 3 cm wide and bear an 0,5 to 2 cm long petiole.

The about 5 cm long flowers appear from September to October. The up to 13 cm long, typical fusiform seed pods ripen from October to December.

The chinese name of this species is Duan xu diao deng hua.
